About the Role

Our client is looking for an aspiring and technically inclined Trainee Mechanical Engineer Assistant to join their team in Kimberley. This apprenticeship provides a foundational stepping stone for individuals aspiring to a career in mechanical engineering. You will gain practical experience assisting engineers with design, testing, and maintenance tasks across various projects. The role involves learning to operate machinery, interpret technical drawings, and contribute to the smooth operation of engineering processes. Key Responsibilities

- Assist mechanical engineers with tasks such as drafting, data collection, and basic calculations.
- Support the assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and prototypes.
- Learn to operate and maintain workshop equipment and hand tools safely.
- Read and interpret technical drawings , blueprints, and schematics.




- Contribute to maintaining accurate records of experiments, tests, and project progress.

Requirements

- A completed National Senior Certificate or equivalent, with strong results in Mathematics and Physical Science.
- A keen interest in mechanical engineering principles and practical application.
- Ability to understand technical documentation and diagrams.
- Valuable problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to tasks.
