Job Summary

We are seeking a team oriented and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailer setup with live floor trailers delivering aggregates to the job sites. You will also be required to move equipment from site to site with our float trailer as required.

There may also be an occasion where we may ask you to go on one of the tandem dump trucks but your main job will be operating the tractor trailer so you will require a Class 1 license. Due to insurance requirements the successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience in dump truck/aggregate hauling in the past. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation will ensure timely delivery of aggregates and equipment and uphold the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport aggregates over primarily short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload heavy equipment as required on float trailer, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, identifying any mechanical issues or safety concerns.




- Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, in office job foremen, and clients..
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Requirements

- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with heavy trucks or similar vehicles.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, primarily wheel loaders to be able to self -load occasionally will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues early.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
