Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Manager – USA/LATAM to manage and grow our business across a strategic territory covering Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico, California, and Florida, with additional responsibility for supporting growth opportunities across Latin America, particularly Mexico.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while driving profitable growth through increased sales, new applications, and the acquisition of new customers. The role will focus primarily on the coatings, inks, and plastics industries.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical and commercial sales capabilities with the ability to identify new opportunities, develop long-term customer relationships, and execute a structured growth strategy across the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Management and Growth
- Manage and develop relationships with the existing customer base across the assigned USA/LATAM territory.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling, new product introductions, and new applications.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and develop relationships with key decision-makers across commercial, technical, R&D;, purchasing, and operations functions.
- Monitor customer activity, market developments, competitive activity, and potential risks or opportunities within key accounts.
New Business Development
- Identify, target, and develop new customers within the coatings, inks, and plastics industries.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
- Prospect for new accounts and develop strategies to convert opportunities into long-term customers.
- Identify new market segments, applications, and geographic opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Work closely with internal technical, product management, customer service, and operations teams to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
Sales and Commercial Management
- Achieve agreed sales, revenue, margin, and growth targets.
- Prepare and execute annual territory and account growth plans, initially focusing on Mexico.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain up-to-date pipeline information.
- Manage pricing, quotations, commercial negotiations, and contracts in line with company strategy and profitability objectives.
Market and Industry Development
- Develop a strong understanding of the coatings, ink, and plastics markets, including customers, applications, trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
- Attend relevant industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Provide regular market intelligence and customer feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for new products or product development based on market and customer needs.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with all relevant Chroma Specialty Chemicals colleagues and leadership team to support customer requirements and business growth.
- Coordinate technical trials, product evaluations, and new product introductions where required.
- Communicate customer requirements and market opportunities clearly throughout the organisation.
Key Performance Indicators Performance will be measured against agreed objectives, including:
- Sales revenue and profitable growth
- Growth within existing customer accounts
- New customer acquisition
- New business opportunities and pipeline development
- Gross margin and pricing performance
- Sales forecast accuracy
Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in technical or business-to-business sales, preferably within specialty chemicals, raw materials, additives, or related products.
- Experience selling into one or more of the following industries:
- Coatings manufacturers
- Ink manufacturers
- Plastics manufacturers
- Demonstrated success in both account management and new business development.
- Experience managing a large geographic territory and working independently.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into commercial opportunities.
- Strong presentation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience with CRM systems, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory and Latin America as required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required, Portuguese would be an added advantage.

Reporting Line The Sales Manager – USA/LATAM will report to the Head of Sales and will work closely with internal technical and commercial teams to achieve the company’s strategic growth objectives. Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
