Role Description This is a part time, on-site Volunteer role based in Markham, Canada. Volunteers support the planning and delivery of youth programs, community engagements, and skill building. Day-to-day tasks may include engaging with Markham residents, helping with outreach activities, preparing materials, canvassing door-to-door knocking, and providing general administrative support.

Volunteers collaborate closely with council members and staff to gather feedback, improve program activities, and promote upcoming initiatives within the community. The role involves regular in-person interaction, requires reliability and professionalism,



and offers opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

- 0-2 years of experience (Just need the willingness to learn)
- Strong interest in youth empowerment, community service, and civic engagement, with a commitment to supporting young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen actively, build positive relationships, and engage respectfully with youth and community partners.
- Organizational and time-management abilities, such as managing schedules, coordinating activities, and following through on assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills, including working cooperatively with other volunteers, staff, and stakeholders in a energetic, community-oriented environment.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to respond to changing program needs and contribute constructive ideas for improvement.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., email, word processing, online collaboration tools) and willingness to learn new tools as needed.
- Prior experience volunteering, mentoring, or working with youth is an asset but not required; training and guidance will be provided.
- Ability to be on-site in Markham and to commit to a full-time volunteer schedule as agreed with the organization.
