Position Overview

Chic Outlet is looking for an experienced and detail oriented Seamstress to join our team. This role is responsible for completing professional alterations, repairs, and adjustments on bridal gowns, prom dresses, evening gowns, and other formalwear.

The ideal candidate is skilled in working with delicate fabrics, understands garment construction, and takes pride in creating a beautiful and comfortable fit for every client.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete alterations on bridal gowns, prom dresses, evening gowns, and formalwear
- Perform hemming, taking in, letting out, strap adjustments, zipper replacements, bust adjustments, and other garment modifications
- Work confidently with delicate fabrics, lace, beading, appliqués, tulle, satin, chiffon, and structured corsetry
- Complete minor repairs and finishing work on outlet gowns before they are placed on the sales floor
- Pin and assess garments during client fittings when required
- Recommend appropriate alterations based on the construction, condition, and fit of each garment
- Maintain the original design and quality of the gown throughout the alteration process
- Complete all work accurately and within the assigned timeline
- Communicate clearly with the store team regarding alteration requirements, completion dates, and any concerns
- Keep the sewing and fitting areas organized, clean, and professional
- Assist with quality control and inspect completed garments before client pickup
- Support the team with steaming,



preparation, and garment care when needed

Qualifications

- Previous professional sewing and alterations experience is required
- Experience working with bridal gowns, prom dresses, eveningwear, or formalwear is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting, and sewing techniques
- Confidence working with delicate, embellished, and structured garments
- Ability to operate industrial and domestic sewing machines
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanship
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple garments and deadlines
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable communicating with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently while remaining closely connected with the store team
- Availability to work during store hours, including some evenings and weekends as required
