Marketing StatementAs the largest operating company in the integrated TransLink enterprise, Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) operates a fleet of clean‑fuel conventional and community shuttle buses, zero‑emission trolley buses, and passenger ferry SeaBuses in Metro Vancouver, the largest single transit service area in Canada.ResponsibilitiesDirects the work of staff on assigned shifts engaged in the repair and maintenance of fleet buses and non‑revenue vehicles. Ensures that safe and compliant work practices are maintained, organizes and schedules planned and unplanned work, participates in the development of the shop work plan, ensures sufficient staff coverage, assigns vehicles, responds to road calls, ensures equipment and parts availability, monitors quality and time, completes and checks department forms and processes, attends committees and meetings, and liaises with security.Illustrative examples of accountabilities include managing employee performance and training, maintaining safety standards, scheduling and adjusting work priorities, coordinating with maintenance planner and manager, ensuring staff availability for emergencies, arranging parking, coordinating with operations to handle disruptions, dispatching roadside repairs, maintaining inventory control, analyzing maintenance reports, checking timesheets, and attending committees.QualificationsGrade 12 graduation plus successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship, diploma or equivalent program in maintenance or management of commercial vehicles (courses in supervision,



diagnostic and office software).Successful completion of the Commercial Vehicle Inspector examination (CVIP) course or possession of the CVIP inspector’s license.ExperienceRequires three (3) years’ experience working in a fleet setting to gain all aspects of the maintenance, repair, and service requirements, and a further period of six (6) months in the position to become familiar with the administrative responsibilities, CMBC organization, policies, procedures, and supervisory responsibilities.Work Schedule37.5 hours per week.Work DesignationResident. This position works predominately on‑site.Rate of PaySalary: $117,523 - $141,594 per annum. The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
