POSITION SCOPE Scherrer Project Engineers focus on engineering details, blueprints and building materials. They will participate in a variety of activities including project workflow, jobsite safety and projectcloseout.

Responsibilities

Verify that building materials meet engineering specifications.

Assist PM/Estimating with:

Estimating/bidding





Buyout and scoping of subcontractors and vendors

Writing subcontracts

Obtaining permits

Maintain good relations with the project team, including Owner, Project Manager, Estimator, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, and Subcontractors.

Assist in project quality and control

Participate in jobsite safety including meetings, walks, and other related activities.

Assist PM/Superintendent with issue resolution

Professionally represent Scherrer Construction team and brand

Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.

1-3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Possess understanding of construction terminology, processes, materials, and workflow.

A general understanding of construction methods.

Detail-oriented and task-focused.

Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients.

Computer proficiency using industry-standard software and applications.

Must be a committed team player.
