About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join their team, supporting operations in the Kimberley region. This role is fundamental to identifying, assessing, and managing process-related risks within oil and gas facilities. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust process safety management systems, conducting hazard analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position offers a vital opportunity to contribute to operational integrity and risk reduction within the energy sector of the Northern Cape , working in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies. Develop and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs. Review designs for new facilities and modifications to existing ones to ensure process safety is integrated. Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, leading root cause analysis. Develop and implement safety procedures, operating manuals, and emergency response plans.



Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles to operations and engineering teams. Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the oil and gas industry . In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and risk assessment techniques. Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., API, NFPA). Strong understanding of safety-critical equipment and hazardous area classifications. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Perks
