We are hiring a dedicated Security Officer for SMU's full-time role with a unique 4-on, 4-off schedule. You'll be responsible for patrolling university grounds, responding to emergencies, and handling security documentation. Fluent English skills and previous security experience are preferred for this impactful position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol university buildings and external areas for security
• Respond to and document incidents as they arise
• Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious activities
• Lock and unlock doors, ensuring campus safety




• Enforce policies on smoking and tobacco use
Requirements:
• Capable of obtaining a Security License in Nova Scotia
• Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C certification
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
• Must obtain certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• High School Diploma/GED compulsory
