The Walrus is looking for a full time Fundraising and Engagement Officer to enhance its growth and support for independent journalism. In this role, you will craft high-impact messaging, manage key fundraising events, and develop fundraising strategies that resonate with the audience. Teamwork with the editorial and marketing departments will be central to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write and edit communications for fundraising initiatives
• Organize The Walrus Gala's online/live auction
• Expand online giving and membership programs




• Collaborate with editors and management on audience engagement
• Create direct mail and digital fundraising strategies
Requirements:
• Proven experience in fundraising or campaign management
• Excellent copywriting for digital engagement
• Knowledge of audience segmentation and database management
• Familiarity with online optimization and analytics tools
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience
