Position Overview

The Concessions Cashier will take orders, accept payments, and serve customers at the concession stand in the Sports Village. Required to follow all Provincial and Local food handling, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for opening and closing the concession stand. Includes cleaning, organizing, prepping the station, keeping it sanitary and safe, and balancing the float assigned.




- Reconciles closing report and ensures accuracy of payments received and processed on the POS.
- Maintain and stock all products daily; keeping the concession clean and always organized, including the stockroom and storage areas.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, reporting any deficiencies to management.
- Note supplies that need to be replenished.
- Welcome and engage with all customers.
- Takes customers’ orders and assembles them correctly.
- Answer any questions customers may have regarding items sold, menu and beverages offered, clarifying any concerns about allergies; referring to management for further assistance if needed.
- Serves food and beverages in a timely matter.
- Accept payments from customers and keep track of all receipts, organized and detail oriented.
- Adhere to all rules, regulations, and protocols
- Enters data into a computerized cash registered system.
- Reconciles and balances cash register at close.
- Wipe down, sweep, mop, and clean concessions upon closing, including changing garbage and cardboard disposal
- Performs other related tasks and projects as assigned, which are in accordance with job responsibilities or necessary department and corporate objectives.




- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Corporate Health & Safety policy & related procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum of a Grade 10 education is required.
- Customer service and cash handling experience is required.
- Currently hold and maintain a valid Food Handlers certification.
- WHMIS and First Aid certifications are an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math skills with the ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions and effectively perform duties.
- Positive attitude with the ability to interact with customers, clients, and staff in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to reach, stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift items up to 25lbs.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced workplace.
- Successful candidate(s) will be required to provide a current, clear Criminal Record Check from an accredited police service prior to employment.
