Job SummaryThe Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading levels of service to clients while meeting all customer document destruction needs. Duties include transporting supplies, safely load and unload the delivery vehicle, and ensuring all cargo is securely secured before transport. Compensation is approximately $22.80 per hour, with the rate influenced by experience, education, training, and location. The role operates on a 4‑day week schedule.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform onsite or offsite document destruction of confidential information.Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip checks; check in with theassigned truck prior to departing or closing for the day; report maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher.Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize risk of injury or damage.Comply with all local, provincial, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and maintain DOT logs when required.Maintain high security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes, ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are securely locked.Service accounts using a hand‑held device, ensuring consoles/containers are barcoded, locations are up to date,



and data is accurate.Manage assigned routes to guarantee customers’ confidential material is collected and serviced promptly and accurately.Respond to all customer problems and inquiries quickly and in the best interest of both the customer and Shred-it.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience, preferably in driving box trucks and route management.Valid driver’s license.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED (accredited).Class 5 driver’s license.Availability for overnights.Physical RequirementsStanding, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting.Speaking, hearing.Operates in both indoor garage/shop or gas plant conditions and outdoor conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.BenefitsAt WM, each eligible employee receives a competitive total compensation package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short‑Term Disability, a Stock Purchase Plan, and a company match on RRSP.
