Responsibilities
Prepare soil for planting by tilling, fertilizing, and ensuring optimal conditions for crop growth
Plant, water, fertilize, and monitor crops throughout their growth cycle
Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, plows, harvesters, and irrigation systems
Perform routine maintenance on equipment using hand tools and power tools to ensure safe and effective operation
Manage irrigation systems to provide adequate water supply while conserving resources
Conduct regular inspections of crops and equipment to identify issues early and address pest control or disease management as needed




Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving bags of seed or fertilizer, as well as moving harvested produce or equipment around the farm

Skills
Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair farm machinery and equipment
Strong understanding of horticulture principles to promote healthy plant growth
Experience with irrigation systems to optimize water distribution across fields
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks
Basic math skills for measuring inputs, calculating areas, or estimating yields
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions
