Duties
Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff,
and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries
Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working workplace for yourself and others
Experience
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a Class 1 license or equivalent
Skilled in forklift operation and freight handling techniques
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair procedures
Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
