Equipment Operator / General Labourer

ACS Contracting Inc. is looking for a dependable and hardworking Equipment Operator / General Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with excavation, concrete preparation, grading, landscaping and general site work.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can safely operate equipment while also helping with physical labour whenever required.

Responsibilities
Safely operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes and other construction equipment
Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling and material placement
Assist with concrete demolition, forming and site preparation
Load and unload materials, tools and equipment
Perform general construction labour, including shovelling, raking and compacting
Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
Keep equipment, trucks and job sites clean and organized
Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers and other trades
Complete other duties as required

Qualifications




Previous equipment-operating or construction experience is preferred
Experience operating excavators and skid steers is an asset
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are required
Ability to perform physical labour and lift up to 50 lb
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
Dependable, punctual and willing to learn
Solid attention to safety and care for company equipment
AZ/DZ licence, trailer experience or additional equipment certifications are considered assets
