Furnace Operator

Reports To

Production Supervisor

Summary

As a Furnace Operator, you will join a skilled team that powder moulds, preps parts for furnacing, and operates induction furnaces. You will be trained on a variety of tasks over time, as you grow your experience with Pilot Diamond Tools.

Job Duties

Powder Room

o Add matrix and backing powders to moulds

o Follow all processes and ensure top- quality work

o Conduct powder mixing and inventory activities

Furnace Prep

o Sandblast and shot peen steel components

o Measure and distribute alloy and flux to moulds

o Tamp blanks into the moulds with a press

o Measuring and some mathematics are required

Open Air Furnace & Chamber Furnace

o Placing mold assembly, centered on the pedestal for furnacing

o Run correct PLC programs to ensure proper furnacing of products.

o Remove products from furnace and let cool.

o Stage moulds for cleanup

Other Duties

o Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager





o Maintain equipment including daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks

o Work within the guidelines of ISO Standards for Quality Procedures

o Work within the guidelines set forth by the OHSA and Pilot Diamond Tools Ltd. health and safety policies

Requirements
High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
Experience working on furnaces considered an asset
Experience working in a manufacturing plant considered an asset

Work Conditions
Hot and humid setting, PPE required
Manual dexterity required with repetitive movements
Must be available to work overtime (Saturday) as required
Must be physically able lift up to 50 lbs

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
