Live2Learn Academy is looking for passionate, knowledgeable, and motivated Academic Tutors to join our growing team. We are seeking university students and university graduates who have completed the Ontario secondary school curriculum and are excited to help students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and achieve their goals.

This role is ideal for individuals who not only have strong subject knowledge, but also demonstrate leadership, communication, initiative, and the ability to connect with students.

Tutors will provide a combination of one-on-one and small-group instruction to students following the Ontario curriculum.

Applicants must have at least 3 teachable subjects.

Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions.
- Teach according to the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum and course expectations.
- Help students understand challenging concepts and develop strong problem-solving skills.
- Support students with homework, assignments, projects, tests, and exam preparation.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles, abilities, and academic needs.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with students and help them develop confidence and independence.




- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Encourage students to develop effective study habits, organization, and time-management skills.
- Prepare lessons, practice questions, and learning activities as needed.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, and the Live2Learn Academy team.
- Contribute positively to the academy's learning environment and culture.

Qualifications Required

- Currently enrolled in or graduated from a recognized university or post-secondary institution from Ontario.
- Strong academic background in the subject(s) you wish to teach.
- Completed the relevant Ontario secondary school curriculum themselves.
- Strong understanding of Ontario high school course expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and skilled.
- Passion for working with and supporting students.
- Must have your own iPad and Apple Pencil for teaching and digital instruction.
- Comfortable using digital tools and technology to support instruction.

Leadership Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated leadership experience, such as:





- Student leadership or executive positions
- Team captain or athletic leadership
- Club or organization leadership
- Peer mentoring or tutoring
- Volunteer leadership
- Teaching or coaching
- Camp counselling
- Student council or school leadership
- Leadership roles within university organizations or communities

Leadership experience is an asset because our tutors are expected to be more than subject-matter experts — we are looking for individuals who can inspire, motivate, and positively influence students.
