Role Description The Barber Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Regina, SK, responsible for teaching barbering techniques, theory, and professional standards to learners in a classroom and salon/barber setting. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering lessons, demonstrating hair cutting, shaving, and grooming services, supervising practical work on models or clients, and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress. The instructor maintains a safe and hygienic learning workplace, evaluates learner performance, and keeps records of attendance and achievement.





The role also involves staying current with industry best practices, supporting curriculum development, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall training experience.

Qualifications

- Strong technical skills in barbering, including cutting, shaving, grooming, and styling, with the ability to demonstrate these techniques clearly.
- Experience in mentoring in a barbering or cosmetology setting, with effective management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support, motivate, and guide a diverse group of learners.
- Valid barber license or equivalent professional certification, and several years of recent, hands-on industry experience. Journeyperson hairstylist or equivalent.
- Ability to plan lessons, assess learner performance, document progress, and adapt teaching approaches to different learning styles.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, customer-facing post-secondary environment, with a commitment to professionalism and inclusivity.
