Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Pipe Fitter to join our team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of underground water and municipal piping systems. This role will involve working on water main repairs, fire hydrants, valves, service connections, and other civil infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pipe fitting practices, construction procedures, and safety requirements, with the ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.

Duties

- Install, repair, replace, and maintain underground water mains, water services, fire hydrants, valves, and related municipal infrastructure
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and utility layouts to accurately complete pipe installation and repair work
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit various types of water and underground piping using appropriate hand and power tools
- Perform water main repairs, including cutting and removing damaged pipe, installing new sections, and completing necessary connections and fittings
- Install and repair fire hydrants, valves, curb stops, service connections, and other water distribution components
- Assist with excavation, pipe bedding, backfilling, and other general civil construction activities as required
- Inspect piping systems and connections for leaks, damage, or deficiencies and complete repairs as necessary




- Ensure proper alignment, grade, and fit of piping and related components
- Work safely around active utilities, excavations, heavy equipment, and traffic-control areas
- Follow all applicable health and safety regulations, project specifications, and municipal requirements
- Work closely with equipment operators, labourers, supervisors, and other members of the construction team to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Complete work efficiently while meeting project schedules and quality standards
- Participate in emergency and after-hours water main and infrastructure repairs when required

Requirements

- 3-5 years of relevant civil pipe fitting experience
- Experience in water main installation and construction
- Valid G Driver's license
- Strong knowledge of civil construction and job-site safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and dependable
