Saint Mary’s University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Public Policy and Governance, beginning July 1, 2027. Candidates holding a nearly completed PhD with a focus on diversity and inclusion in education are encouraged to apply.

This full-time, tenure-track position seeks scholars who can enhance teaching and research in the areas of Public Policy and Governance. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in comparative politics methodologies and a commitment to equity. Teaching responsibilities will include existing courses as well as the development of new, innovative curricula integrating experiential learning elements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Teach existing courses in Public Policy and Administration
• Develop recent curriculum focusing on Public Policy topics




• Implement experiential and community-engaged learning
• Conduct in-depth research in areas of Public Policy
• Advance equity and diversity goals within the university

Requirements:
• Completed or nearly completed PhD in Political Science or related field
• Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Research expertise in governance, health policy, or environmental justice
• Ability to facilitate experiential learning opportunities
• Teaching excellence with a focus on student engagement
