Port Renfrew is a remote community approximately 75 minutes past Sooke. Classes in Port Renfrew School are generally very small and multi-grade where teachers maypartner together to provide instruction at the Elementary and Middle levels in a cohort model. Port Renfrew School has strong ties to Paa ʔ čiid ʔ at ḥ Nation, which is home to most of the students in the school. Guided by the District’s Local Education Agreement with Paa ʔ čiid ʔ at ḥ Nation, whole-school lessons, learning on the land, working with Elders in cooperation with the Paa ʔ čiid ʔ at ḥ Education Department and embedding Paa ʔ čiid ʔ at ḥ language, culture and community into daily instruction are central components of this school’s culture in accordance with Standard 9 for Skilled Standards for BC Educators
The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $64,072 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
