Early Years Practitioner is responsible for providing high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for children from birth to school age. The role involves supporting children’s wellbeing, safety and individual learning needs within a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing responsive, nurturing care that promotes children’s health, wellbeing and emotional security.
Planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition.
Supporting children’s development through observation, assessment and effective interactions.
Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
Promoting inclusion, equality and respect, while recognising and responding to individual needs.
Ensuring a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning setting.
Working collaboratively with the team to meet Care Inspectorate standards and maintain high-quality practice.
Supporting children’s rights in line with the UNCRC and contributing to continuous improvement within the setting.
