Our client, a growing player in the transportation and logistics industry, is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Controller for a permanent, full‑time prospect. Located in Calgary, AB, this 100% on‑site role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is capable of building, strengthening, and standardizing financial processes from the ground up.

Competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $135,000 per year
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the full‑cycle accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all accounting functions
Take ownership of month‑end and year‑end close processes, including overseeing bank reconciliations and invoicing
Support and directly assist with day‑to‑day accounting activities
Coordinate and support year‑end audits and review engagements, ensuring all documentation is accurate and on time
Work closely with the on‑site General Manager and manage a small accounting team, including remote members
Provide financial insights and reporting to the Corporate Controller to support management decision‑making
Qualifications
Atleast 3 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, with proven experience in leadership, establishing internal controls and governance
Previous experience in a service‑based industry is highly preferred
Experience supporting audit and review engagements
Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction in a fast‑paced workplace
Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and post‑merger integration is considered a strong asset
Comfort with occasional overtime during critical close periods and occasional travel
