The candidate will be responsible for assisting construction supervisors with work planning and site coordination.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting field crews during Civil, Line, Electrical, and Mechanical construction activities.
The candidate will be responsible for participating in field verifications, as-built documentation, and redline drawing updates.
The candidate will assist with monitoring construction progress, schedule updates, and milestone tracking.
The candidate will be responsible for following safety practices and ensuring all work aligns with utility safety standards and policies.
Engineering & Technical Support
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the preparation of construction packages, drawings, and work instructions.
The candidate will be responsible for performing basic quantity surveying or data analysis under supervision.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the review of shop drawings, vendor documentation, and technical submittals.
The candidate will be responsible for contributing to quality inspections and documentation for completed work.




The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the investigation and integration of new technologies into the utility work environment.
Documentation & Administrative Tasks
The candidate will be responsible for updating project files, logs, and documentation in company systems.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting procurement activities, including material requests and inventory checks.
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and updating Quality Documents.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and updating of department processes and procedures.
Job Requirements The candidate must be enrolled in and yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada.
The candidate must have completed a minimum of 2nd year studies in a Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree, or a Construction/Project Management Degree, at an accredited university.
The candidate must have a robust working knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and be results oriented.
The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Security and safety The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification,



employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.
The candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment alcohol and drug testing as a condition of employment for this safety-sensitive position.
Work conditions The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Remote work model.
The candidate will gain practical, hands‑on work experience directly related to their specific field of study.
