Join IWK Health in Halifax as a dedicated teacher in Intensive Outreach Services. This full time role focuses on supporting the educational needs of children and adolescents with mental health challenges.

In this position, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team aimed at providing treatment services to clients up to 19 years old. You will engage with public school staff to address educational barriers and support clients' reintegration into learning environments. Additionally, you may provide individualized teaching to facilitate academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with clients and families to develop education plans
• Travel throughout Nova Scotia for client support and planning
• Assess and monitor client academic progress




• Provide targeted teaching to reintroduce clients to school
• Collaborate with IWK teachers and community resources

Requirements:
• Baccalaureate Degrees in Arts, Science, and Education
• Valid Nova Scotia Teacher’s Certificate; ITC or equivalent certification
• Minimum two years of teaching experience
• Familiarity with mental health issues in children
• Ability to implement proactive behavior supports
