Instructional Designer / Content Developer

Location: Calgary, AB | Type: Contract (6 months) | Setup: Hybrid | Experience: Mid-level | Pay: Up to $65/hr

About the Role

You'll build everything the trainers deliver on a Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement program: persona-based training, job aids, self-paced e-learning, and the prompt library end users actually reach for. Trainers come back from discovery workshops with validated use cases, and you turn them into content on roughly a one-week cycle.

The client is an AI-first consulting firm that helps energy and industrial companies modernize their data and put AI into everyday use. This role sits on their change management team, behind the delivery team rather than in front of the room.

The pace is the real test here. Quick turnarounds are the norm, and the content still has to be accurate about how Copilot behaves, which means you need to know the tool, not just the instructional design playbook.

What You'll Do

- Build persona-based training, job aids, and self-paced materials structured to work both live and on demand
- Turn validated use cases into reusable, well-structured prompts, and maintain the prompt library
- Produce across formats: PowerPoint, PDF, and video or e-learning




- Design the technical upskilling curriculum, including a hands-on Copilot agent-building bootcamp for super users
- Work from the trainers' workshop notes, which means listening closely and translating someone else's discovery into usable content
- Keep quality steady on a roughly one-week production cycle

Qualifications

- Instructional design and adult-learning expertise, with a portfolio spanning live and on-demand formats
- Demonstrated speed: you've shipped validated content under weekly turnarounds before
- Practical Microsoft 365 Copilot knowledge, enough to author accurate content (live facilitation is not part of this role)
- Prompt engineering skill, specifically translating real use cases into prompts non-technical users can apply
- Multi-format production chops across slides, print, and video or e-learning
- Experience building technical, hands-on curriculum a step above end-user training
