This opportunity may be filled at either the Property Accountant or Senior Property Accountant level. Candidates will be assessed based on their experience, expertise, and ability to perform the responsibilities of the role, with title and compensation aligned accordingly. As the Property Accountant, you will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients and provide effective and accurate accounting of a retail real estate portfolio owned by Primaris. Your communication skills and positive attitude will contribute to the success of our team. Your main organizational task will be to provide timely and accurate reporting and budgeting by:

Monthly reporting, including month-end closes, actual to budget variance analysis, GST & QST returns, bank reconciliations, etc.

Prepare quarter-end audit packages and liaise with auditors

Draft annual financial statements and cost statements

Prepare annual tenant operating cost, CAM recoveries and realty tax billings

Prepare operating and capital budgets

Assist with the integration of new property acquisitions as required

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are results driven, reliable, and flexible. If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, you likely have the following attributes:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field





Earned or are enrolled in a program to achieve a professional accounting designation

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

ERP system experience an asset (Yardi Preferred)

Bilingualism an asset (French/English)

Excellent interpersonal skills

Build positive relationships and demonstrate commitment, effort and a "take charge" attitude

Produce accurate work with attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines
