With several fabrication shops across Alberta and hundreds of skilled people on our crew, our projects include gas plants, well pad modules, pipelines, and carbon capture.

Position Summary

We are an established Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor serving clients across the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. We deliver complex upstream, midstream, and facilities projects with a solid focus on safety, schedule, cost control, and quality. Our teams work on greenfield and brownfield developments, plant expansions, pipeline facilities, and related infrastructure for producers and midstream operators.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, Lead to support the full lifecycle delivery of EPC projects.

The successful candidate will manage a team of engineers and designers, interface with clients and stakeholders, and drive results in a dynamic oil and gas environment. This role spans pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, and construction phases of our clients’ oil and gas and energy projects.

Responsibilities

- Lead EPC electrical engineering scopes, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.




- Contribute to the development of project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk registers as it pertains to electrical engineering deliverables.
- Work with Project Managers on change management, and commercial issues.
- Drive HSE performance and ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Contribute to and present project status reports, and executive updates as required.
- Participate in project close-out activities, including lessons learned, final documentation, and handover.
- Support proposal development, estimate reviews, and bid strategy as required.
- Mentor junior engineering and design staff.
- Support business development efforts, proposal development, as required.
- Conduct field investigations and site visits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, P.Eng. designation or equivalent.
- 10–15+ years of experience in Canadian oil and gas industry, with significant EPC delivery experience in Western Canada preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred

- Familiarity with modular construction, and brownfield execution scopes.




- Strong knowledge of Alberta regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
- Registration with APEGA. Eligibility for registration with EGBC (Engineers and Geoscientists BC) and APEGS is considered a strong asset.
- Professional registration in the United States would be an asset.

Technical Skills

- Canadian Regulations: Application of the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1) alongside IEEE, IEC standards and client specifications within the applicable provincial jurisdictions.
- Hazardous Area Classification: Design and classify electrical installations for explosive atmospheres (Class I, Divisions/Zones) common in oil and gas facilities.
- Medium and low voltage system designs.
- Drawings & diagrams: Create and/or work with designers to create Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts (process buildings, base of plant cable trays and lighting), and other electrical engineering deliverables as required.
