Commons and is staffed by four librarians and eight full-time staff who work within the context of a larger integrated library system serving both Saint John and Fredericton campuses.

Additional Working Conditions
- Required to perform physical activity, such as moving heavy book trucks, bending, and stretching while shelving books and other materials, etc.
- Must be able to adjust schedule for peak activity periods.
Salary Range: $22.92 - $27.14 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Library Services Desk Manager, the Library Assistant Evening & Weekend Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the Library Services Desk within the Hans W.
Klohn
Commons during evening and weekend hours and for ensuring that the Commons is maintained in good order during those times. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor is responsible for supervising student assistants that work at the Library Services Desk during evening and weekend hours.
- Ensure the effective operation of the Library Services Desk during evening and weekend hours.
- Provide friendly, welcoming service in-person, by telephone and by email to all students and other visitors to the Hans W Klohn Commons.
- Provide library users with basic research help and basic technology support when other staff are unavailable.
- Supervise, train and assess the quality of work performed by student assistants including circulation duties, re-shelving, shelf-reading, and other related tasks.
- Retrieve library items from closed-stack areas, such as Special Collections.
- Ensure that library equipment is monitored and adequately maintained.
- Open and close the library.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all records.
- Process financial transactions, including accepting payment for overdue fines.
- Perform Cash Deposit/Reconciliation upon closing.
- Issue Alumni, CURBA, and Community borrower cards when appropriate.
- Report problems to supervisors or other units on campus as appropriate (e.g., Security).
- Keep administrative records and perform some clerical duties within Technical Services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- An undergraduate degree or library technology diploma.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
