Elevate mental health support for students at MacEwan University as a Counsellor I in Wellness and Psychological Services. This full time limited-term position starts in October 2026 and focuses on student wellness initiatives.
You will work on a multi-disciplinary team to deliver individual and group counselling services, addressing diverse mental health concerns. Your role includes facilitating workshops, conducting assessments, and creating resources that promote well-being. You'll participate in community outreach and engage with students from equity-seeking groups.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer in-person and virtual counselling sessions
• Assess student needs and develop support plans
• Facilitate workshops and educational presentations
• Collaborate on departmental initiatives and activities
• Participate in program evaluation and improvement
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work
• Active registration with a recognized Alberta association
• Proven experience in counselling and facilitating groups
• Excellent communication and initiative in service development
• Capacity to address wellness issues for marginalized populations
