The candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to mechanical engineering teams.
Job Requirements The candidate must be enrolled in academic studies at a post-secondary institution in Canada to qualify for a student Co-op opportunity.
The candidate must have completed a minimum of 2nd year of Mechanical Engineering Degree studies at an accredited university.
The candidate should have familiarity with engineering drawings, which is considered an asset.
The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and be results oriented.
The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Security and safety The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.




The candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment alcohol and drug testing as a condition of employment for this safety-sensitive position.
Work conditions The candidate will work mainly in the office but may participate in some field work.
The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Work from home model.
The candidate will gain practical, hands‑on work experience directly related to their specific field of study.
