Position Overview: Join the Finning Canada family, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar engines and equipment.
Based in Yellowknife, NT on a Monday to Friday, 5x2 shift schedule.

Job Description: Major Job Functions Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
Interact with customers, products and sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks as required
Specific Skills & Experience Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal,



and communication skills with a high attention to detail
Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
Previous Caterpillar mining equipment repair experience would be considered an asset
Notes: Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
