The Minnesota Department of Corrections’ Office of Financial Management is rebuilding how financial work gets done. We are seeking an exceptional Financial Policy Design and Engagement Strategist to transform complex financial rules,



procedures, and business processes into content that employees can actually use.

You will work with experts in accounting, budgeting, procurement, grants, internal controls, payroll, and other financial areas. They will bring technical expertise. You will bring the discipline of an excellent technical writer: asking accurate questions, identifying missing information, organizing complex material, writing in plain language, maintaining consistency, and turning dense requirements into practical instructions, job aids, training content, and digital resources.

This is not primarily a public-relations position, and it is not a role in which you will wait for polished drafts. You will frequently begin with an outdated policy, a statewide requirement, notes from several subject‑matter experts, inconsistent procedures, screenshots, and a partially documented workflow. Your responsibility will be to turn those materials into a coherent, accurate, accessible product and move it through review and publication.

Finally, this is also a new role in a rapidly evolving and highly collaborative environment.
