Contract: Interim, expected through the end of 2026, with potential to transition into a permanent full-time role
the Finance Group is hiring an experienced Interim Director of Finance to provide senior financial leadership during a period of organizational transition.
This individual will ensure continuity of the finance function, provide hands‑on leadership to the finance team, and support the organization as it strengthens its financial operations and prepares for longer‑term transformation.
Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of the finance function.
Partner with senior leadership and the Finance Committee on financial matters.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, month‑end, and year‑end activities.
Maintain continuity of finance operations during a period of transition.
Review financial processes, controls, and reporting practices and identify areas for improvement.
Identify immediate financial and operational risks and establish priorities.
Lead, mentor, and support the finance team.
Support knowledge transfer and assess future finance team requirements.




Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Support broader finance transformation initiatives and the transition to longer‑term financial leadership.
Qualifications CPA designation is required
Senior finance leadership experience at the Director of Finance, Controller, or similar level
Previous nonprofit experience would be a significant asset
Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and operational finance.
Experience leading finance teams through organizational change or transformation.
Strong understanding of financial controls, processes, and risk management.
Comfortable partnering with senior leadership, Finance Committees, and Boards.
Hands‑on, adaptable, and able to quickly assess priorities in a changing environment.
