UBC is seeking a Seismic Engineer focused on numerical research within the ASSET Group. This role involves leading applied research programs and developing creative modeling techniques.

This position will require substantial independence and leadership to manage numerical modeling activities. You will translate high-level research goals into actionable work packages while mentoring students and researchers. Engagement with industry partners to foster collaboration and proposal submissions will also be critical.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and execution of numerical research projects
• Coordinate and review modeling work from various research staff
• Provide technical guidance in earthquake engineering




• Disseminate research outcomes through multiple scholarly avenues
• Develop strategic partnerships for research and funding

Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
• Minimum of one year of engineering experience
• Proven expertise in numerical methods for seismic analysis
• Advanced skills in OpenSees and Python programming
