Support the learning of students with hearing differences as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing at Surrey Schools. This part time role emphasizes collaboration, IEP coordination, and the use of technology for enhanced communication.

In this 0.2 FTE role, you will help foster an inclusive educational atmosphere while collaborating with school teams. Your main tasks will involve coordinating IEPs, assessing individual learning needs, and providing specialized support. By using multi-modal teaching strategies, you can significantly improve communication skills for learners.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with school-based and community partners
• Assess support needs and implications for learners
• Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students




• Teach communication and language development skills
• Monitor and repair hearing technology used by students

Requirements:
• Must hold a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate
• Diploma or Master's degree in relevant education field
• Minimum of two years teaching experience essential
• Preferred experience in inclusive education
• Fluency in American Sign Language is a plus
