The candidate will be responsible for assessing drawings against standards and identifying designs that appear to involve conflicting data.
The candidate will be responsible for verifying drawings against the provided dimensions, elevations and slopes, scales, quantities of materials, etc.
The candidate may update Geographic Information System (GIS) information.
The candidate will be responsible for assigning and recording drawing numbering and maintaining drawing lifecycles.
Job Requirements The candidate must be enrolled in a technical engineering program and have yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada.
The candidate must have completed a minimum of 1st year of technical engineering studies at an accredited post-secondary institution.
The candidate must have a solid working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and be results oriented.
Candidates may be required to have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License for some positions.
Security and safety The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification,



employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.
Work conditions The candidate will work mainly in the office but may participate in some field visits.
The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Remote work model.
The candidate will gain practical, hands-on work experience directly related to their specific field of study.
The candidate will gain experience producing graphs, drawings, maps, and diagrams.
The candidate will learn how to create and revise a variety of standard engineering/design computer-aided drafting (CAD) drawings.
