Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to join our team at a personal care home supporting residents living with dementia and other age-related care needs.

The PCA will provide hands-on personal care and daily living support while promoting residents' dignity, independence, comfort, safety, and overall well-being. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Duties

- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and safety
- Support patients with medication administration according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster positive relationships and reduce feelings of loneliness.
- Help with mobility and transfer techniques using proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Document care activities accurately and communicate any changes in condition to supervising staff promptly

Skills





- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Robust patient care skills with a focus on senior care, hospice support, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and techniques for caring for clients with cognitive impairments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Dependable and compassionate approach to caregiving with attention to detail in medication administration and safety protocols
- Ability to handle cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining hygiene standards
