PERSONAL TRAINER / FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
MINT Condition | North Vancouver, BC
Part-time / Contractor | Opportunity to grow
MINT Condition is building a different kind of health and performance practice, bringing together medical care, health assessment, DEXA, strength and conditioning, and practical support under one roof. We are opening October 2026 (www.mintcondition.ca)
We’re looking for an exceptional Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor who loves helping people discover what their bodies are capable of.
A big part of this role will be working with women in midlife. We want someone who understands the importance of strength, muscle and bone health through perimenopause, menopause and beyond — and who is confident introducing women to progressive resistance training and heavy lifting, including clients who may have never considered themselves “lifters” before.
At the same time, we want someone with a strong performance mindset who is equally comfortable working with a teenage athlete, a recreational runner, a busy 45-year-old who wants to feel strong again, or a fit 70-year-old who wants to keep performing for decades.
What you'll do
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Deliver 1:1 and semi-private strength and performance training
- Introduce clients safely and confidently to heavy lifting and progressive strength training
- Work with women navigating perimenopause, menopause and midlife changes
- Train a broad range of clients, from youth athletes through active older adults
- Develop strength, speed, power, mobility and overall physical capacity
- Lead small-group strength and performance classes
- Work alongside MINT's medical and allied-health team
- Use health and performance information, including DEXA body-composition data, to help inform meaningful training goals
- Potentially help develop specialized MINT programs for women, athletes and healthy aging
We'd love to meet you if...
You have a solid background in personal training, strength and conditioning, kinesiology,
athletic development or group fitness — and you genuinely enjoy teaching people how to get stronger.
We're particularly interested in someone who:
- Has experience working with women in their 40s, 50s and beyond
- Understands the role of resistance training in muscle, bone, metabolic health and healthy aging
- Can make lifting heavy feel approachable rather than intimidating
- Has experience with performance-based training, not just general fitness
- Is confident working with youth and adolescent athletes
- Can appropriately progress training for fit and active older adults
- Understands movement quality, progressive overload, recovery and injury-risk reduction
- Is engaging and comfortable leading both individuals and groups
- Values evidence-informed practice and enjoys working collaboratively with other health professionals
Experience or additional education in women's health, menopause, strength and conditioning, athletic development, running, sport performance or healthy aging would be a major asset.
Why MINT?
This isn't a high-volume gym-floor position.
We're creating a small, high-quality training workplace where clients can build strength and physical capacity as part of a bigger approach to their health.
You'll work alongside professionals in medicine, rehabilitation and health performance, with the opportunity to build your own client base, develop programs and help shape the culture of MINT's physical performance practice from the beginning.
Most importantly, we want someone who believes that strength isn't reserved for athletes or twenty-somethings.
We want more women lifting heavy. More athletes building durable bodies. And more people entering their 50s, 60s and 70s stronger than they thought possible.
If that sounds like the kind of work you want to be doing, we'd love to hear from you.
