Position Details Hours: Mondays & Fridays, 2:304:30 pm (Potential for additional hours and occasional weekends in the future) Location: Pickering Key Responsibilities: -Pick up from school and support a smooth, safe transition home (school is 5-minute drive from my home) -Help him follow his visual schedule for independent routines and easy chores -Prepare his afterschool snack -Engage him in active, movementbased activities (running, trampoline, exercise) -Support daily living skills, communication, and socialization through structured and unstructured activities -Participate in simple learning routines (e.g., reading, functional math in everyday tasks) -Maintain safety and respond appropriately to: foodseeking behaviour, eloping for game of chase (not escape), ending chasebased games with verbal prompts, maintaining instructional control -Light household tasks (laundry, tidying, basic meal prep) Future Training & Expanded Role As the relationship and rapport develops, we will provide additional training so the support assistant can eventually take him into the community for meaningful outings, such as:



-Nature walks -Park visits -Walking or running the track -Swimming -Transit practice -Other structured community activities For now, the focus is homebased support and safety.

Qualifications -Experience supporting children with autism or special needs is required -Comfortable managing sensory needs and foodseeking behaviours -Warm, patient, active, and playful approach -Strong organizational skills and reliability -Ability to work independently and follow structured routines -Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle Schedule & Compensation -Parttime hours: 2:304:30 pm on Mondays and Fridays Competitive hourly wage based on experience -Additional hours may be available as training progresses To Apply If youre passionate about making a positive impact and creating joyful, meaningful experiences for a child, we would love to hear from you.
