Senior Full Stack Developer – Java / Angular

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java and Angular to join an enterprise application development team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing large-scale production applications, building REST APIs, working with relational databases, and delivering modern frontend solutions. Experience with reverse engineering and re-platforming legacy business and reporting logic is highly significant for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and support large-scale enterprise applications using Java and modern frontend technologies.
- Develop robust REST APIs and backend services using Java.
- Build and maintain modern, responsive applications using Angular or comparable JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
- Own end-to-end full stack solutions and make independent technical and architectural decisions.
- Reverse engineer existing business logic and applications and re-platform legacy functionality into modern solutions.
- Analyze and migrate existing reporting and query logic, including WebFOCUS or similar technologies.
- Work with relational databases, SQL, database design, and deployment.
- Deploy and support applications in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps and collaborate with DevOps/platform teams.




- Participate in Agile/Scrum development and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver solutions independently.
- Work closely with business teams and leadership to understand requirements, priorities, and business objectives.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience developing large-scale production applications using Java for backend/API development.
- 5+ years of experience with Angular or a comparable modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework.
- Strong hands-on experience with full stack development.
- Experience with reverse engineering and re-platforming existing applications or business logic.
- Strong experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with database design and deployment.
- Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have
- Experience working with the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or broader public-sector environments.
- Knowledge of Ontario Digital Service standards.
- Experience with WebFOCUS or similar BI/reporting platforms.
- Experience modernizing or migrating legacy enterprise applications.
