Family Assistant - Full-Time (Midtown Toronto, live-in or live-out)

- Full-time, permanent: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday (see sample schedule below)
- $47,500 to $54,000 a year, commensurate with experience, plus paid vacation
- Midtown Toronto, steps from the subway; live out, or live in a private furnished suite with its own entrance
- You must already be legally entitled to work in Canada (we can only discuss sponsorship if there is some time remaining in your current work permit) and hold a valid Ontario driver’s licence

The role

We are seeking an exceptionally organized candidate to help run our household of two working professionals with two school-aged kids (7 and 8) and with whom we can develop a long-term, respectful working relationship.
The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in helping a household run smoothly. They are trustworthy, dependable, organized and discreet. They enjoy keeping calendars and lists accurate, managing errands independently, making sure the children arrive at activities on time with everything they need, and leaving the home calm and orderly at the end of the day.
The role suits someone with sound judgment, initiative, and a practical approach to problem-solving. We value someone who can manage day-to-day matters independently, anticipate what needs to be done, and communicate promptly when something requires attention.

In return, you can expect clear priorities, regular check-ins during onboarding, and autonomy in organizing your tasks.

Core responsibilities

- Organization: taking ownership of the daily home organization, calendars, tasks and systems. Maintaining calendars and tracking registrations, appointments and activity schedules for the kids.
- Driving and errands: picking up the children from school with the family car when a parent is not able to,



and completing errands (prescriptions, dry cleaning, donations, returns, household essentials, and taking the vehicle for periodic servicing).
- Housekeeping: daily reset of the home, restocking essentials.
- Children’s support: pick-ups/drop-offs when parents are working; prepare healthy snacks and light meals; keep school and activity items organized; and support homework and daily routines. Provide support on PD days and school closures. The successful candidate is warm and engaged, but consistently sets clear boundaries and expectations of the children.

Requirements

- Demonstrated prior experience in a comparable role (e.g., family assistant, nanny/housekeeper or similar position)
- Robust command of English
- Experience independently managing calendars, registrations, errands, and projects
- Legal authorization to work in Canada for at least 1 year.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence, a safe driving record and confidence driving
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Physical ability to complete ordinary household tasks in a multi-storey home (stairs, laundry, groceries)
- Comfort with technology, email and online booking systems

Details

- Hours and salary: 35-40 a week ($47,500 to $54,000) annually (commensurate with experience and agreed hours)
- Paid vacation
- Use of the family’s car, inclusion on insurance policy
- Household payment card for purchases
- Room and board option: a private, newly renovated, furnished suite in our home, on a separate floor, with an ensuite and a separate entrance. Off-duty time is your own.
