Mechanical Drafter Our client is an established custom equipment and component manufacturer with over 25 years of history.

The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, models, and documentation to support engineering and manufacturing activities.

This role focuses on converting engineering concepts into clear, manufacturable drawings using Solid

Works and ensuring all documentation follows company standards.

The Mechanical Drafter works closely with engineers, technologists, and production staff to support new designs, revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities: Drafting & Documentation Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Solid

Works in accordance with drafting standards.

Prepare assemblies, part drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.

Maintain revision control and ensure all drawings are accurate and properly updated.

Review drawings for clarity, completeness, and manufacturability.

Engineering Support Work with engineers and mechanical technologists to convert design concepts into production-ready drawings.

Assist in updating existing drawings to support engineering changes or process improvements.

Participate in design reviews by providing drawing insights and manufacturability feedback.





Ensure consistent application of GD&T; and internal drafting conventions.

Production & Shop Support Provide production teams with clear drawings, layout information, and technical clarification.

Support the shop floor by answering drawing-related questions and addressing discrepancies.

Collaborate with machinists, welders, and fabricators to resolve dimensional or interpretation issues.

Update drawings based on feedback from manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.

Documentation & Standards Maintain drawing templates, title blocks, standards, and CAD libraries.

Ensure all files are stored, named, and archived according to company procedures.

Support the development and standardization of drafting practices across the engineering team.

Qualifications: Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree Strong Solid

Works drafting and modeling skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy in all technical documentation.

Ability to interpret engineering concepts and convert them into manufacturable drawings.

Strong communication skills with engineers, production staff, and quality teams.

Understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T;, and manufacturing processes.

Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks and prioritize effectively.

Solid organizational and documentation skills
