Reporting to the project manager, the water and fire restoration technician has a basic understanding of restoration techniques used to effectively complete mitigation and restoration of structures and contents. Duties will include demolition, debris removal, poly and prep worksites and containment set up and take down as required, as well as content packing, listing, photographing, manipulation and restorative cleaning

Duties:

- Provide sound mitigation and demolition services at customer job sites based on IICRC standard of best practices.
- Provide sound cleaning practices at customer job sites and in the warehouse for content processing, including but not limited to packing, listing, photographing, manipulating, and transporting content when necessary.
- Process all content according to industry standards and regardless of their condition ensuring they are returned to the customer or disposed of as directed by the project manager.
- Provide sound cleaning practices at customer job sites for structures, including but limited to poly and prep set up and take down, cleaning ceilings, walls, doors, baseboards, casing, countertops, fixtures, floors and appliances when required.
- Identity salvageable versus non-salvageable contents and document accordingly.
- Ensure all health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Familiarity with chemical products, including use, disposal, and safety data sheets application.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information.
- Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.
- Participate in on call rotation during weekdays and weekends.
- Deliver and pickup of materials
- Strong aptitude to work within deadlines independently and as part of a team.




- Comply with all Winmar policies and procedures as well as legislative requirements
- Proactively communicate job site conditions, concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person.
- Participates and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety polices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment including safe operation of machines and equipment.
- This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager.
- Daily completion of timecards, material sheets, vehicle inspection logs and job updates.
- Obtain necessary sign off to allow for disposal of content

Qualifications:

- IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) - Required
- Working knowledge of restoration industry best content and cleaning practices
- Familiarity with chemical cleaning products including Safety Data Sheets
- IICRC certification (Fire and Smoke and / or Odour Control) - Preferred
- IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) - An asset
- Recognition of common objects and materials.
- Construction / Restoration / Insurance experience - Preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per WINMAR’s vehicle policy.
- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a quick paced environment




- Basic / Intermediate computer and / or tablet/iPad experience
- Valid Ontario drivers license
- Willing to work nights, and weekends when requested.
- On call rotation schedule during weekdays and weekends - Required
- Criminal record check - Required for interview
- Periodic travel may be required
- Must have own safety shoes/boots

Physical Demands:

- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling

Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
