Job Summary:

The Junior Software Developer is responsible for translating technical system specifications into functional, tested software applications. This role involves coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software while collaborating with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. The position requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to deliver high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed programming specifications and write or generate code.
- Compile data-driven programs and conduct unit testing to ensure software quality.
- Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems during software operation, including implementation, conversion, and migrations.
- Collaborate with IT professionals across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document applications using structured methodologies.
- Elicit and document requirements from diverse business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues as needed.
- Conduct design walkthrough sessions with project teams.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in programming, analysis, and specialized software package support.
- Proficiency with object-oriented and/or third-generation programming languages.
- Knowledge of application design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies and query languages.




- Familiarity with one or more communications protocols.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience programming Internet-ready applications.
- Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
- Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Experience with middleware, gateways, and product installation script modification.
- Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) regulations and standards.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite modules and related programming (PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripts, Oracle Data Integrator).
- Knowledge of Oracle database structures, SQL tuning, data warehouse, ETL methodologies, and OBIEE.
- Experience with Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) is an asset.
- Leadership skills to oversee technical quality assurance.

Special Considerations:
- Must be able to provide in office support as required (approximately 5 days on-site).
- Ability to handle post-implementation technical issues and provide ongoing support.
- Must comply with accessibility standards and regulations.
