Position Details

Position: Temporary Part Time Social Worker - MSW Until Approximately February 1, 2028

Position Summary:

We are seeking a mental health social worker who is passionate about mental health care and who embraces working on multidisciplinary teams. The Social Worker will conduct mental health and risk assessment of patients, facilitate group therapy sessions, and perform individual services with an ability to link participants with community services as required.
The position involves working in partnership with our Ambulatory Adult Mental Health services including Hazelglen, Mt. Hope Day Hospital and our Rapid Response Team. The Mount Hope Day Hospital Services work with people in the community assisting them to maintain community tenure and where possible preventing hospital admissions.





The Mount Hope Day Hospital Services offer a variety of outpatient group content with the aim to provide helpful and healthy strategies to cope with concerns and learn skills.

Position Requirements

- Master of Social Work Degree
- Current registration with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- 3 years (minimum) clinical experience in Adult Mental Health
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Act
- Proficiency in applying the skills of de-escalation & de-briefing
- Ability to be flexible and adapt in an ever changing environment
- Demonstrated skills in biopsychosocial assessment, mental status examination, differential diagnosis, treatment and transitional care of mental health clients
- Detailed knowledge of community services/resources
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort in using computer systems, typing of notes etc.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills
- High level of maturity, professionalism & acceptance of personal responsibility
- Knowledge of recovery principles
- Excellent attendance record and ability to maintain same
- Training and practical experience conducting crisis assessments and intervention would be an asset
- Advanced de-escalation, Code White training preferred (training will be provided)
- Good attendance record

Salary and Closing

Salary: CAD 44.36-55.43
