The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building, maintaining, repairing, and improving high-precision molds, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and related production equipment used in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support new product launches, troubleshoot tooling issues, improve mold performance, and ensure production equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, maintain, repair, and modify injection molds, tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and related production equipment.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on molds and tooling to maximize uptime, reliability, and product quality.
- Diagnose mold, tooling, and manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and tooling-related production concerns, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
- Perform mold tear-downs, inspections, cleaning, repairs, and reassembly.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hot runner systems, cooling systems, and mold components.
- Operate manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment, and other precision machining equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Perform precision fitting, assembly, polishing,



and finishing of tooling components.
- Support mold trials, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve tooling performance, manufacturability, and process efficiency.
- Conduct inspections and measurements using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and tooling records.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, housekeeping requirements, and ISO-related processes.

Qualifications & Experience

- 3–8 years of experience in tool and die making, mold making, precision machining, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Tool & Die Maker Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent tooling and mold-making program.
- Solid knowledge of injection mold construction, mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and mold lifecycle management.
- Experience operating manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and surface grinders.
- CNC machining and programming experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with hot runner systems, mold cooling systems, and precision mold components is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $28.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
