MacTaggart Veterinary Clinic in SW Edmonton is expanding and looking to a hire a full-time Veterinary Office Assistant for 32-40 hours (4-5 shifts) per week Monday to Friday and 2 Saturdays per month. We are a privately owned practice that focuses on excellent customer service and superior client care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of veterinary clinic experience as well as basic knowledge of the Avimark program and Otto. We are looking for a person who is passionate about animal and client care, reliable, have excellent communication skills, and would love being part of our awesome team.

The details

· Welcoming clients and pets

· Managing a multi-line telephone system

· Operating the scheduling and filing system (avimark)

· Invoicing/billing and managing cash drawer and POS

· Assisting the Veterinarian and Technician with procedures/restraint

· Providing excellent client and pet care

· Lifting heavy objects

· Cleaning and sanitizing the clinic

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is required.
- Strong interest in animal care and welfare.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
