We are currently seeking a Security Guard for a full time position at a long-term care residence in Scarborough. This is an immediate opening for a reliable and professional individual who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for residents, visitors, staff, and healthcare partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site security services, monitoring the facility and surrounding areas, responding to incidents and emergencies as required, and ensuring a high standard of customer service while following all site protocols and procedures.

Site: Long-Term Care Service Housing

Location: Scarborough, ON

Available Shift: Monday to Friday 4:00PM to 12:00AM

Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour

Important Note: As this position is based at a long-term care facility, a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) will be required as part of the pre-employment process. You will be responsible for obtaining the VSC; however, the cost will be reimbursed upon submission of a valid proof of payment (receipt).

Job duties a Security Guard at Long-Term Care Service Housing:

- Be visible to public as they enter the premises
- Acknowledge residents as they enter and exit the building
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, customers, contractors and visitors of client's property
- Perform routine property patrols and respond to fire alarms
- Detect,



challenge and displace unwanted people
- Promote safety and adhere to client site emergency procedures
- On-site First Aid responder until expert Medical help arrives
- Recording and maintaining log books of daily activities
- Follow up with daily documentation in your memo book; inputting notes and incident reports as required
- Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License issued under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level “C” Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required and must be valid/clear
- Minimum 1 years of security experience in a residential, healthcare, or multi-functional campus environment preferred
- Minimum 1 year of security experience in a concierge, residential, or commercial environment preferred
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
- Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, and respond effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations
- Advanced computer literacy and ability to learn multiple security systems and digital platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is an asset
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems is an asset
- Must be physically capable of walking, standing, climbing stairs, and conducting extended patrols
- Possession of a personal vehicle is an asset
