Companion Caregiver – Part-TimeAbout the Role

We are seeking a warm, friendly, compassionate, and reliable Companion Caregiver to spend quality time with a wonderful 80-year-old senior at a private residence in the Mills Haven / Rainbow Park area of Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The primary goal of this role is to provide companionship, socialization, and meaningful engagement in a comfortable and respectful home environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for students, retirees, or anyone who genuinely enjoys spending time with seniors and is looking for meaningful part-time work close to home.

Schedule

- 4-hour shifts daily
- Flexible hours: We are completely open to discussing the daily schedule.
- Shifts may be arranged for morning, afternoon, or early evening, depending on your availability and what works best for everyone.
- Consistency and reliability in the agreed schedule are important.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Companion Caregiver will be responsible for:

- Providing friendly companionship and engaging in meaningful conversations.
- Sharing stories, playing simple games, and participating in enjoyable activities.
- Accompanying the senior on short, gentle walks around the neighborhood.
- Preparing or serving a light lunch, dinner, snack, or refreshments during the visit.
- Providing gentle medication reminders.
- Helping create a positive, comfortable, and engaging environment.




- Respecting the senior's privacy, dignity, independence, and personal preferences.

Requirements & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

- A warm, caring, and friendly personality.
- Genuine interest in spending time with and supporting seniors.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent conversational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Absolute reliability and consistent punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check before starting.
- Residence in or close to Sherwood Park / Strathcona County for an easy and reliable commute.
